Fresh off his first quote unquote "official" release "Something Wicked This Way Comes" (2007), our young hero emcee Gigio delves in with all his heart to make something new and original. The result being "Church Musick" (2008), his most inspired & ambitious venture, at the time that is. (wink wink) ;)

The meaning/story behind "Church Musick" goes as follows: True music is expression of the soul & spirit. Recognizing this & accepting the divine nature of this act, Gigio felt moved to name his brand of Hip Hop music what it truly is, CHURCH MUSICK! The roots of hip hop & other popular American music genres can arguably be traced to the gospel songs of black churches in the South during the era of Jim Crow. At the height of all this racial injustice and terrorism, blacks found refuge in the Church, and they sang and they danced, and expressed themselves spiritually through music!

Keep in mind though, if you're expecting traditional Christian gospel or Kirk Franklin or something, turn away right now! This album is raw, gritty, honest, funky, thought-provoking, young, fresh, dangerous, \"in-your-face\", rebellious, complex; everything that hip hop is all about.

In the fashion of all out exorcism, Gigio works it out on this one, for real! "Church Musick" is a truly unique blend of beats, rhythms, comedy, political messages, social commentary, lyrical mastery, religious references & punchlines.
